Federal environment minister, Peter Garrett yesterday approved the Port of Melbourne's EMP for the chaennel deepening project.
The decision by Federal environment minister, Mr. Peter Garrett to approve the Port of Melbourne's environmental management plan (EMP) now means that dredging can commence any time after 7:00am, Thursday February 7, 2008. The Port of Melbourne plan to start dredging in the northern section of the Bay on Thursday morning.
