Twenty or so years down the track and the vision and mission thing is still as popular as ever in corporate Australia. Why?
Seems to us actions speak louder than words and organisations should be judged on what they do not what the say - particularly when the latter is lifted from glossy brochures filled with the same old bunch of over-used and over-hyped cliches such as "cutting edge", "unique", "innovative" and "world class".
Perhaps companies should adopt the mantra attributed to the Sydney Swans: "No dickheads on our team"!
